Overview

Amiodarone injection is a medication used to treat life-threatening heart rhythm problems such as ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation. It belongs to a class of drugs known as antiarrhythmics, which work by stabilizing the heart’s rhythm.

Administered intravenously, it provides rapid relief in emergency situations where other measures have failed. However, due to its potency and potential side effects, it is typically reserved for serious cases under close medical supervision. Amiodarone injection is not intended for long-term use and is often transitioned to oral forms once the patient stabilizes.
