Overview

Amoxicillin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, belongs to the penicillin group and is widely prescribed to combat bacterial infections. It inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, effectively eradicating a variety of pathogens.

Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic, is commonly used to treat respiratory tract infections, skin infections, and H. pylori-induced stomach ulcers. It works by disrupting bacterial protein synthesis.

Vonoprazan, a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), is a newer addition to the armamentarium against acid-related disorders. Unlike proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), vonoprazan directly inhibits the gastric proton pump without requiring acid activation. It is primarily utilized to reduce stomach acid production, particularly in the treatment of ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Together, these medications are sometimes prescribed in triple therapy regimens to eradicate H. pylori infections, a common cause of peptic ulcers. However, individual dosages and treatment durations should be determined by healthcare professionals based on specific patient factors and infection severity.
