Overview

Aranelle is an oral contraceptive, the so-called birth control pill, applied for pregnancy prevention. Two active ingredients in this drug: ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen), norethindrone (a progestin), acting together to suppress the phenomenon of ovulation: they prevent the release of eggs from the ovaries and the thickening of the cervical mucus, in turn, prevents sperm penetrating to the uterus, altering the uterine lining that makes it less permeable to a fertilized egg.

Aranelle is prescribed to women seeking to prevent pregnancy but might also be used to treat irregular menstrual cycles, heavy menstrual bleeding, or some types of acne. Being one of the highly effective combination birth control pills when taken correctly, it serves both contraceptive and therapeutic benefits.
