Overview

Arazlo is a topical drug primarily for the treatment of acne vulgaris, commonly known as common acne. The drug has tazarotene as its active ingredient-a derivative of vitamin A and a member of the retinoid family. Retinoids are those chemical compounds that are derived from vitamin A. In them, there is a link to treating skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis due to their efficiency in making cells turn over and reducing inflammation. Arazlo is a lower-strength formulation of tazarotene, sold as a less potent but perhaps more tolerable preparation suitable for everyday use, even by patients with sensitive skin.

Arazlo is applied directly to the skin affected areas and helps to normalize the growth of skin cells, prevent comedones from forming, and reduce inflammation. It is considered topical retinoid and so considered a first-line treatment for acne.
