Overview

Azor is a prescription drug used in the treatment of hypertension. It is a combination of two active drugs: amlodipine and olmesartan. Azor is designed to help reduce blood pressure by addressing two mechanisms that contribute to hypertension.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB), and olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). By combining these two drugs, Azor has a synergistic effect that is far more effective than either one of these drugs alone; thus, it is a good, powerful medication for blood pressure control.

Hypertension is a rather common disease that increases risks for heart attack, stroke, kidney damage, and vision loss. Proper control of blood pressure is necessary to mitigate these risks, and Azor offers a reliable way for optimal control of blood pressure.
