Overview

Caldecort is a prescription drug that is widely utilized in medical practice as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant. It contains the active ingredient prednisolone, which is itself a corticosteroid. Prednisolone is synthesized to act like cortisol-the natural hormone produced by the adrenal glands. Corticosteroids such as prednisolone are used to treat diverse inflammatory and autoimmune conditions on account of their potent anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating properties.

Caldecort is administered to patients with conditions like allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, and other diseases in which the immune system is inappropriately activated. It can be administered in acute and chronic conditions depending on the needs of the patient and the severity of the disease.
