Overview

Duofilm is a topical medication used to treat warts and other skin lesions. It is commonly used for plantar warts (warts on the feet) and common warts (on hands or other areas of the body). Duofilm contains two active ingredients: salicylic acid and lactic acid. These ingredients help to break down the hardened skin and remove the wart over time.

  • Salicylic Acid: Acts as a keratolytic agent that softens and removes the outer layer of the skin, allowing the wart to gradually peel away.
  • Lactic Acid: Enhances the penetration of salicylic acid and softens the skin.

Duofilm is available in a liquid form that is typically applied to the affected area once or twice a day. Over time, the wart will shrink and eventually fall off. Duofilm is available without a prescription in many countries, making it an easily accessible option for treating warts.
