Overview

Duravent PE contains two active ingredients, dextromethorphan and phenylephrine, to relieve several symptoms.

Phenylephrine is a decongestant that reduces swelling and nasal and sinus congestion and pressure. Phenylephrine constricts blood vessels in the nostrils and therefore reduces swelling and causes nasal passages to open so that one can breathe more comfortably.

Dextromethorphan is an anti-tussive which helps suppress coughing. It acts on the cough center of the brain and suppresses dry and persistent coughs.

Duravent PE is used in the relief of cough and congestion caused by common cold, sinusitis, hay fever, or other respiratory infection. The drug provides total relief from congestion and chronic coughing because of the synergistic activity of a decongestant and a cough suppressant.
