Overview

Fallback Solo is a single-dose emergency contraceptive pill that contains 1.5 mg of the active ingredient levonorgestrel, a synthetic form of the hormone progesterone. It is used to help prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure, such as a broken condom or missed birth control pills. This medication is intended for occasional, emergency use only and not as a routine form of contraception.

Fallback Solo is most effective when taken as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse, ideally within 24 hours, but it can work up to 72 hours (3 days) after. However, its effectiveness decreases the longer you wait. Unlike the abortion pill, Fallback Solo does not terminate an existing pregnancy and will not work if implantation has already occurred.

It is available without a prescription in many places, making it accessible to a wide range of users in urgent need of pregnancy prevention.
