Overview

Fluoridtab, or fluoride tablets, are a form of fluoride supplement taken by mouth, usually daily. These tablets contain a specific amount of fluoride (often sodium fluoride) which, when swallowed, is absorbed into the body. The absorbed fluoride then travels through the bloodstream and becomes integrated into the structure of developing teeth, making them stronger and more resistant to cavities. This form of fluoride is most beneficial for children whose permanent teeth are still forming beneath the gums, from infancy up to around 16 years of age. They are typically prescribed by a dentist or doctor based on the local water fluoride levels.

  • Product Type: Systemic fluoride supplement (usually tablets, but can also be drops).
  • Active Ingredient: Often Sodium Fluoride.
  • Purpose: To provide fluoride internally to strengthen developing tooth enamel and prevent cavities.
  • Availability: Typically requires a prescription from a dentist or doctor.
  • Target Users: Primarily children in areas with low or no fluoride in their drinking water, whose teeth are still forming.
