Overview

Flura-Loz contains the active ingredient sodium fluoride. It is a supplemental form of fluoride, designed to provide the benefits of fluoride to tooth enamel from the inside out, complementing fluoride found in toothpaste or rinses. Its primary use is to prevent tooth decay in people, particularly children, whose drinking water supply contains less than the optimal amount of fluoride (usually less than 0.6 to 0.7 parts per million, or ppm).

Flura-Loz is typically available as:

  • Chewable tablets: These are chewed or allowed to dissolve in the mouth.
  • Lozenges: Designed to dissolve slowly in the mouth.

By providing systemic fluoride, Flura-Loz helps to strengthen the developing tooth enamel in children and can also provide topical benefits to existing teeth by being present in saliva. It is an important part of a comprehensive dental care plan, alongside brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups.

  • Product Type: Oral fluoride supplement (chewable tablet or lozenge).
  • Active Ingredient: Sodium Fluoride.
  • Purpose: To prevent dental cavities, especially in areas with low fluoride in drinking water.
  • Availability: Strictly by prescription from a dentist or doctor.
  • Target Users: Children and sometimes adults with low fluoride intake from water, and high risk of cavities.
