Dutasteride: Take Dutasteride daily by mouth. Swallow the capsule whole with water and do not crush or chew. You can take it with or without food. Take your medication at the same time each day to remind you.
- Key: It may take several months to experience the full effects of dutasteride, so do not get discouraged and continue taking it as prescribed, even if you do not feel better immediately.
Tamsulosin: Tamsulosin is another tablet, which is typically taken once a day. Take the medication with the same meal every day (best with breakfast) because this makes it easier to be absorbed and reduces side effects like dizziness.
- Note: Swallow tamsulosin with food every time, as an empty stomach may result in side effects like low blood pressure or dizziness. In case you forget a dose, take the medicine as soon as you remember it, except if it’s almost time for the next dose. Miss the dose in this case and resume your regular dosage routine.
