Overview

Fylnetra is a type of medicine known as a leukocyte growth factor. Its active ingredient is pegfilgrastim-pbbk, which is a biosimilar to pegfilgrastim. Fylnetra is primarily indicated to decrease the incidence of infection, specifically febrile neutropenia, in patients with non-myeloid malignancies (cancers that do not originate in the bone marrow) who are receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs. Myelosuppressive chemotherapy can suppress the bone marrow’s ability to produce blood cells, including neutrophils. Fylnetra helps to counteract this effect. It is administered as a single subcutaneous (under the skin) injection once per chemotherapy cycle. Fylnetra is a prescription-only medication and is typically managed by an oncologist or healthcare professional familiar with cancer treatment.
